Llanmadoc and the surrounding area, like the rest of the Gower, is a paradise for walkers. Relatively untouched by man, it retains its natural glory. The scenery is both spectacular and varied, ranging from secluded wooded valleys to open, heather clad moorland and wild, rugged coastline.

The climate is mild and sunny and usually there is a pleasant sea breeze. It is relatively easy walking country with a strong network of footpaths. Even at the height of the tourist season there are plenty of places – craggy inlets, clear woodland streams and stretches of golden sand, which are quiet and even deserted.

Gower is superb for the naturalist. Its varied habitat provided for an astonishing array of flora and fauna and many rare species have been preserved.

On this page you will find a selection of walks which you can start from the Farmers Arms, and also walks in other parts of Gower, which are a short drive away.
