THE FARMERS ARMS/ANNEXE,

LLANMADOC, GOWER

FURTHER INFORMATION

The Gower

We have set out in this note some information about the Gower Peninsular, which we hope you will find useful.

Gower is Britain’s first designated area of outstanding natural beauty. There is something for everyone. Unique in its variety, the Gower is a small area full of contrasts – from the wild estuary marshlands of the north, to the fine expanses of sand in the west, the rugged cliffs and secluded coves of the south, the rolling hills and farmland, dominated by Cefn Bryn, inland, and the modern, bustling city of Swansea to the east.

Largely unspoilt, the Gower provides holidays for those who seek peace and tranquillity and yet there is plenty to do if you prefer a more active and energetic time. The climate is mild and sunny, flora and fauna are rich and varied, the history fascinating and the holiday attractions unlimited. If the weather is kind there is no better place than the Gower to relax and enjoy yourself.

Llanmadoc

Llanmadoc is a small village on the north west coast of the Gower. It is an ideal spot for accessing the National Trust conservation area at Whitford Burrows (which is a 10 minute walk away) or for driving to the numerous Gower beaches. The nearest, Broughton Bay, is a 5 minute drive away and the beaches of the south Gower coast, Oxwich, Port Eynon etc, are a 15 minute drive.

For those who enjoy walking/nature, Llanmadoc is an ideal spot. There are numerous walks which can be started from the Farmers Arms. At the property, we provide a file with details of local walks, with instructions and information etc.

Duvets and pillows are provided. Sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, towels, tea towels and table linen are not provided and must be brought by the guest.

The cost of all electricity, heating and gas is included in the rental fee. Coal and logs are not provided, but these can be purchased at local garages.

A cot is supplied, with a mattress, but without a blanket.

Hot water and heating

Heating is by means of a gas powered combination boiler. This provides immediate hot water. As there is no immersion tank, there is no need to wait for any immersion heater to heat up the hot water!

The property is centrally heated throughout. The timer switch is on the combination boiler and, depending upon the time of year, the heating can either be switched off completely, or put on a timer. Normally, the heating is set to come on for a few hours each morning and evening. If you wish to override these times, so that the heating is on permanently, you can do so by adjusting the timer switch. Always remember to turn the switch back to the timer, especially at night – otherwise the property will become uncomfortable warm!
