BURIAL CHAMBERS AND HILLFORTS

Gower has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Stone Age man left his mark throughout the Peninsula in the form of cave dwellings, standing stones and burial chambers. The Bronze and Iron Age people built burial mounds and complex hillforts:

Arthur’s Stone: one of Gower’s most impressive monuments situated on Cefn Bryn, Reynoldston. A great 25 ton capstone Neolithic tomb.

The Bulwark, Llanmadoc Hill. A large defended Iron Age enclosure.
