Welcome to The Farmers Arms

This period Gower cottage is in the quiet village of Llanmadoc on the north-west corner of the Gower Peninsula. Built in the 1850s, until some 50 years ago it was a public house called the Farmers Arms.

Farmers Arms nameplate

The Farmers Arms at LlanmadocWe have owned the Farmers Arms for many years, and we let it out as a holiday cottage throughout the year. Many hundreds of families and couples have enjoyed great holidays here as you can see by what they write in our visitors’ book, and the fact that many return time and again.

We live in a nearby village and manage the property ourselves. We do not use agents. In the unlikely event of any problems we are a 5 minute drive away.

The cottage has two separate parts: the Main House (the left side) has three bedrooms and sleeps 5. The Annexe (the right side) has two bedrooms and sleeps 4. The Main House and the Annexe are available separately or together – they are connected by a door – and together sleep 9. They are ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Each part has its own patio and there is a large garden a the rear, with plenty of room for kids to play in. The property backs on to open farmland.

Several years ago we added a new feature – a wild flower meadow – which attracts numerous species of bees, butterflies and other insects and will appeal to anyone interested in conservation and nature.

The Gower Peninsula was designated as Britain’s first area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1950. The Gower Peninsula is to the west of the City of Swansea and is approximately 20 miles long and 6 miles across.

The Gower has something for everyone – beautiful beaches, coastal walks, surfing, mountain biking and historic sites.
